PFAS - persistent chemicals that are extremely difficult to break down - pose new challenges for the sustainable management of resources and soil. One thing is clear: the impact affects people, the environment, and future generations alike, demanding decisive action.

The "Kreislauftag" (Circular Economy Day) brings together decision-makers from government agencies, politics, and industry associations, as well as public and institutional project developers, to discuss current findings, challenges, and potential solutions. Expert presentations from authorities and industry practitioners will shed light on topics such as the current regulatory perspective, the consequences for construction sites and landfills, and possible technological approaches to handling contaminated materials. At the same time, the event will address how the construction material cycle must evolve so that sustainability becomes a lived reality rather than just an aspiration.

Central to this discussion is the philosophy of the Eberhard Group: “Enkelfähigkeit”- acting in a way that benefits future generations. This means making decisions today that will stand the test of time, even fifty years from now. Construction materials must not end up in landfills, responsibility must not be deferred to the future, and technically feasible solutions must be implemented. Sustainable solutions emerge where clear frameworks, collaboration, and the courage to make decisions come together - even when change is not always easy.

After all, one thing is certain: looking the other way is not an option. In addition to a diverse program of expert presentations, the event offers opportunities for exchange and networking. In the afternoon, participants have the option to visit the "Ebirec" construction material recycling center to gain insights into the practical implementation of a modern circular economy.
